The formation of Bukhara’s eponym meaning scholastic center of Islam in Russia (1850-1990-ies.): the vicissitudes of mutual transition of religious and ethnic dogmas

Abstract
This paper analyzes the changing in the perception of the Tatar Muslims of ‘Bukhara’ Islamic education, turning it into a synonym of backwardness and inflexibility. Formation as a pseudo-national nation state led to the highlighting of the political slogans, such as secularism, materialism and scientism, which composed a linear progressive scheme of the history of Tatar people.
