Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

Author Guidelines

When sending an article to the editorial office, it is recommended to keep the following rules.

The manuscript. It is submitted to the editorial office in an electronic version via an online form. The article file uploaded to the system must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (It may have the following extensions *.doc, *.docx, *.rtf). The material proposed for publication must be original, not previously published in other periodicals. When submitting a manuscript to the editorial office of the journal, the author undertakes not to publish it in full or in part without the consent of the editorial board.

All reviews and scientific articles submitted to the editorial office of the journal undergo mandatory double-masked ("blind") reviewing.

1. The volume of the manuscript full text (original research, lectures, reviews), including tables and references, should not exceed 6000 words (or 20000-40000 characters). The number of words in the text can be found through the Word menu ("File" – "View document properties" – "Statistics"). In any case when the volume of the article exceeding the standards is justified by the author and cannot be reduced, the decision on publication is made by the editorial board and usually bases upon the recommendation of the reviewer.
2. The format of the manuscript text. The text should be printed in Times New Roman font, have a size of 12 pt and a line spacing of 1 pt. The margins on each side of the page are 2 cm. Paragraph indentation is 0.5 cm. Highlighting in the text can only be done in italics or bold letters, no underscores are allowed. It is necessary to remove all duplicate spaces and extra line breaks from the text (in automatic mode through the Microsoft Word "find and replace" service).
3. The file with the text of the article uploaded to the Manuscript Submission Form must contain all the information for publication (including figures and tables).

The article must contain the UDC code (assigned by the author). The UDC code corresponding to the subject of the article can be found at: https://www.teacode.com/online/udc / )

DOI (digital identifier of the article) - assigned by the editors.

The structure of the manuscript should correspond to the template (in Russian and English):

Russian language abstract:

The title of the article manuscript is given in bold, aligned to the left (the maximum length of the title of the article is 10-12 words). When presenting the title of an article in English, it is unacceptable to use only Latin transliteration of the Russian version. Abbreviations and formulas cannot be used.

Information about the author/authors of the article.

The authors of the article, should be presented in a way with their surnames following their initials (e.g. P.S. Ivanov, S.I. Petrov, I.P. Sidorov). The names of the authors are given according to their contribution to the work performed, where the first is the leading author.

The name of the institution.

It is necessary to give the official full name of the institution (in accordance with the name specified in the charter documents of the organization, without any abbreviations). If the authors of the paper are from different institutions, it is necessary to correlate the full names of the authors and the names of institutions by adding numeric indices in a superscript after the names of the corresponding authors and before the names of the institutions affiliated with them. The city and country of residence are indicated. Each author must specify their e-mail and ORCID. Note: to get a personal number, you need to register on the website https://orcid.org / .

Information about the author(s) of the article should be placed in the following order with the left alignment with the initials and full name in italics, example:

• Abstract of the article. The abstract of the article should provide some basic information on the research and should come as a deciding factor for the reader on whether or not to read the full text of the article for more detailed information. The title of the article should not be duplicated in the abstract.

The abstract should be structured (in case the paper is original) and include the relevance, purpose, materials and methods, results, conclusions fully corresponding to the content of the work. The volume of the abstract should be within 150-250 words.

• Keywords. They serve as a guide for the reader and are used to search for articles in electronic databases, therefore they should reflect the discipline (the field of science in which the article is written), the topic, purpose and object of research. The recommended number of keywords is from 5 to 10. Keywords must match in Russian and English versions.

• For citation. Surname and initials, the title of the article, the original data of the journal.

• Acknowledgements (if there is any). The authors can express their gratitude to the people and organizations who contributed to the publication of the article in the journal, but are not among the authors.

English-language abstract:

• Article title. The English title of the paper must be given in the literate English language and fully correspond in meaning to the Russian-language title. The translation made with the help of Google Translate or other online translators must be edited.
• Author names. The full name of the author(s) must be written in accordance with the foreign passport, or in the same way as in articles previously published in foreign journals. Authors who are publishing for the first time and do not have a foreign passport should use the BGN/PCGN transliteration standard.
• Affiliation. It is necessary to indicate the official English name of the institution. The most complete list of the names of institutions and their official English versions can be found on the Russian National Electronic Library website eLibrary.ru
• Abstract. The English version of the abstract should fully correspond in meaning and structure to the Russian version and be organized in literary English. The translation made with the help of Google Translate or other online translators must be edited.
• Keywords. Keywords in English (in full accordance with the Russian version).

• Acknowledgements: The information about the acknowledgements in English must fully correspond to the Russian version.

The full text (in Russian, English or both languages) should be structured by sections. The format of the full text of the manuscript devoted to the description of the results of the original research should fully correspond to the generally accepted template and should contain the following sections: introduction (describing the relevance), materials and methods, results, conclusion, as well as thematic subsections if there is any need.

Introduction

It gives the general topic of the study, the goals and objectives of the planned research, theoretical and practical significance, it also describes the most well-known and authoritative publications on the topic and names the unresolved problems. This section of the manuscript becomes an independent text.

Methods and materials

This part of the paper describes the sequence of the research, provides links to relevant sources.

Results

This part of the research describes the actual results of the study: tables, photographs, drawings. The results should be clear and concise.

Discussion and conclusions

Here the author provides the main conclusions of the study: evaluates the scientific contribution of the study, demonstrates the brief results of the article sections without repeating the formulations given. In case the main text of the article is not in Russian, then the abstract and keywords are also given in Russian.

List of references.

It includes the sources the information from which is used in the article and it should be organized in accordance with the Journal standard.

In the references, each source should be placed from a new line under an ordinal number.

Formatting rules for the journal:

– All the works are listed in the order of citation, not in alphabetical order.

– The number of works cited: up to 20 are allowed in original articles and lectures and up to 60 sources in reviews;

– The journal uses an in-text system of references, i.e. references to the sources (literature) are given within the text of the article in square brackets and in Arabic numerals: [1; 2; 5], it also indicates the pages of the borrowed source, for example: [5, p. 53], where 5 is the position of the work in the list and 53 is the source page.

It is essential to provide the correct links to the sources that include the names of the authors, the journal, the year of publication, the volume (issue), the number, pages, DOI (digital identifier of the article) or Internet access address.

• For books: the full name of the author, the title, the place of publication, the name of the publisher, the year of publication and the total number of pages;
• for articles: the full name of the author, the title of the article, the title of the journal, the year of publication, volume, issue (or number), pages of the beginning and the end of the article, DOI (digital identifier of the article) if available;
• a link to electronic sources should include: the author's full name, the title, the information about the site, the access mode and the date of the last visit;
• links to websites (except scientific papers, monographs, scientific articles) are placed in page-by-page footnotes (at the bottom of the page) and are NOT included in the reference. Citations and footnotes to the Wikipedia.ru are not acceptable.
• unpublished sources (not included into the general list of reference): documents, archives, laws, manuscripts should be indicated with page-by-page footnotes at the bottom of the page.

• All the authors should be represented in the bibliographic description of each source. If the publication has more than 4 authors, then after the 3^d author it is necessary to put the abbreviation "et al.". It is unacceptable to shorten the title of the article. The titles of the domestic and English-language journals should be given in full. Double slashes are not allowed in the list of references! The titles of the journals are not abbreviated.
• The titles of journals and monographs are given in italics. The city of the publication is written as a general rule in full. Abbreviations are allowed only in Cyrillic notation for Moscow (M.), Leningrad (L.) and St. Petersburg (SPb.).
• When referring to journal articles (the most frequent source of information for citation), follow the template:

Author A.A., Co-author B.B. The title of the article. The title of the journal. Year; Volume (Number): page–page (the range of pages of the article in this journal).

The title of the article and the journal should not be separated by a “//” tab. To describe the release date, the volume, the journal number and the pages on which the article is published, an abbreviated record format should be used.

REFERENCES

The list of references in English is a combination of transliterated and English-language versions of the Russian-language literature.

The title of the publication should be transliterated (written in Latin letters) and duplicated into English in square brackets [...]. When transliterating, you need to use the link: http://www.translit.ru (with the BGN variant) (except literature in English and Romanic languages).

It is necessary to indicate in oval brackets the original language of the article in which the full text of the publication is written.

For example: (In Russian), (in Arabic), (In Persian), (In Italian), etc.

In case the article comes from a scientific journal, it is necessary to check the titles of the journals in English so that it coincides with the official one. The English titles of the articles from Russian-language journals, as a rule, are available in the Russian Science Citation Index (available at http://elibrary.ru).

Self-translation into English is possible only if the cited work does not have any original title in English.

The names of publishing houses are not translated, but transliterated only! For example, Nauka Press (not Science Press), Bely Veter Press (not White Wind Press).

The names of cities and the titles of publications (including periodicals) should be given in a full version without any abbreviations in English, the language of the publication must be indicated at the end. Here are the examples:

If the source included into the list of the works cited in any language with Latin graphics, but not in English, then in references it is necessary to indicate the publisher and pages not in the language of the work, but in English. If the page numbers are indicated, they should be written in English, not in the language of the work (i.e. p., not S.).

Typical errors that should be corrected after the automatic transliteration:

a) the references to the “Volume” or to the “p.” (pages) of the publication should be translated into English. “Vol.”, “p.\pp.” (please note that in English it is the double pp. to indicate the range of pages of an article in a journal or collection).

b) all the abbreviations of the cities should be given in a full version: M. – converted to Moscow; St. Petersburg – to Saint Petersburg; L. – to Leningrad; N.Y. – to New York; etc.

c) check and correct the numbers of centuries (XX, XIX, etc.) – if you typed them using the Russian letters "X", the transliteration will automatically translate them into "Kh" (i.e. you will see "KhKh v.” instead of “XX century” “KhIKh v.” instead of “XIX century” etc.)

d) the names of foreign authors should not be transliterated, but should be given in the original.

If you quote any works on their Russian translation, the automatic transliteration will often display the names incorrectly: for example, Marks instead of correct Marx; Moss instead of Mauss; Levi-Stros will be the wrong version of Lévi-Strauss, etc.

e) only the titles of journals (or other periodical scientific publications), titles of books and collections of articles are highlighted in italics in the Latinized list.

Information about the author (in Russian and in English):

full name, academic degree and title, place of work, position, contact phone number and email address, city, country.

Enclosures

The editorial board has the right to request from the authors the originals of the illustrative material for the article in case of poor quality of the materials provided.

The maximum number of illustrations in the text is 10.

• The tables should be placed in the text of the article and should have numbered titles (both in Russian and English). Their columns should be clearly marked, precise and easy to comprehend. The data in the tables should correspond to the figures given in the text, but should not duplicate the information presented. References to the tables in the text are mandatory.
• Illustrations (graphs, diagrams, schemes, drawings and other illustrations drawn by means of MS Office) should be contrasting and clear. The amount of graphic material is minimal (except for works where it is justified by the nature of the study). Each picture should be placed in the text and accompanied by a numbered caption (in Russian and in English). References to figures in the text are mandatory.
• Photos, screenshots and other unsigned illustrations must be uploaded separately in a special section of the form for submitting an article in the form of files of the *.jpeg, *.bmp, *.gif (*.doc and *.docx – if additional marks are applied to the image) formats. The image resolution must be >300 dpi. Each image file must be given a name corresponding to the number of the picture in the text. In the description of the file, a caption should be given separately, which should correspond to the name of the photo placed in the text.

Abbreviations

All the abbreviations given in the article must be deciphered at the first use. If there are a lot of abbreviations, you are recommended to make a list with all the necessary explanations.

There is no full stop sign after: the heading, the title of the article, the author of the article, rubrics and subheadings, keywords, names of tables and figures.

Note: The rules for writing Arabic names, titles and terms in Russian, accepted in “Minbar. Islamic Studies” journal.

Recommendations for filling up the Electronic Submission Form.

For successful indexation of the articles in domestic and international databases, when submitting a manuscript to the editorial office via the Electronic Submission Form, it is necessary to fill in all the necessary metadata in details. Some metadata should be provided both in Russian and English: the name of the institution where the authors of the manuscript work, the city, the country, the title of the article, the abstract of the article, the keywords, the name of the sponsoring organization. Switching between the Russian and English forms is realized via the switch button on the upper part of the page.

Attention Authors. The Authors’ full names should be given both in Russian and in English. It is absolutely essential to completely fill out all the personal data of the authors. ORCID is mandatory for all the authors. The e-mail address of the author indicated as a contact person will be published in the text of the article, and will be freely available to all Internet users and subscribers of the printed version of the journal.

The title of the article. It must be completely duplicated in English.

Abstract of the article. It must completely match the text in the manuscript file in both English and Russian.

Indexing of the article.

Keywords. The keywords with the total number between 5 to 10 should be organized in such a way, when they will contribute to the article indexation in search engines. All the keywords should be translated into English.

Language. It is necessary to specify the language of the full text of the manuscript. In case the author publishes an article in two languages, it is necessary to point out the fact of double language indexation (for example, [ru; en])

References. The list of references should be designed in accordance with the "Reference Formatting Rules", developed in accordance with the Scopus recommendations (U.S. National Information Standards Organization NISO Z39.29-2005 [R2010]).

Any additional data should be sent to the editorial office in the form of separate files along with the article immediately after uploading the manuscript file. Additional files include accompanying forms, image files, source data (if the authors submit them to the editorial board for reviewing by their own will or at the reviewers’ request), video and audio materials that can be published together with the article in electronic version of the journal. Before submitting any file, you should enter a description of each. If the information from the additional file is to be published in the text of the article, it is necessary to name the file appropriately (for example, the description of the image file should contain a numbered caption, for example: Fig. 3. The pages of the book manuscript by Said Afandi.).

Completing the submission of the article. After downloading all the additional materials, it is necessary to check the list of files to be sent and complete the process of article submission. After completing the procedure (within 7 days), an email notification will be sent to the email address specified by the authors when submitting the manuscript (the absence of a letter is a confirmation that the manuscript has not been received by the editorial office). The author can contact the editorial office (editor or reviewers) at any time, as well as track the stage of processing his manuscript through his personal account on this site.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

1. The manuscripts are accepted if has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

2. The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.

3. Internet links are provided as a complete URL. 

4. Text should be typed with an interval of one line spacing, font Times New Roman, 12 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text  (and not at the end of the document).

5. Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in  Regulations  located in the Part "About Us." 

6. Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the  anonymity of reviewing.

Specified when registering the names and addresses will be used solely for technical purposes of a contact with the Author or reviewers (editors) when preparing the article for publication. Private data will not be shared with other individuals and organizations.
