Abstract
The article deals with the opinion of the famous Tatar theologian and historian Sh. Mardjani (1818-1889) on the phenomenon of accusation in unbelief (Takfir) in the Islamic tradition, with reference to his comments to Nasafi’s credo (‘aqaid an-Nasafi). The article states that the Tatar Muslim scholar followed the classical Sunni traditions, adhered to common ideas among Islamic jurists in this field.
