The article deals with the characteristic features of the dictionary of proverbs and sayings by T.A. Shaykhullin. The offered dictionary is the first attempt in a national lexicography to give the full information about ways of expressing family relations in proverbs, sayings and aphorisms of two structurally different languages – Russian and Arabic. Reveling the semantics of key concepts of the fund of proverbs and sayings of these languages the author highlights their connection with different realities of a life of both nation.
